What Manor keeps about your family
Last updated October 14, 2026.
The short version
- We keep only what Manor needs to work: your email, your kids’ first names and ages, and their progress and journal.
- We never sell your information, and there are no ads inside Manor. We do advertise Manor on Facebook and Instagram, and Meta tells us which of those ads brought visitors (see below).
- Your kids’ names, your journal notes and your photos never go to our analytics service.
- You can turn off usage data in the menu, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time.
If you use Manor without an account
Your progress is saved in your browser on this device only. We don’t see it, and it disappears if you clear your browser’s data. When you make an account, it’s copied into your account and removed from the device.
What we keep when you make an account
- Your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also get the name on your Google account.
- For each child you add: a first name, the month and year they were born, and anything optional you choose to tell us, such as a grade, interests or accessibility notes.
- Each child’s progress: which lessons and books they’ve finished and where they left off in a book.
- Your family journal: the notes you write and the photos you add. Only the adults in your household can see them.
- Notes you leave at the end of a lesson. Only Landon, who built Manor, reads them.
If you’re a member, or used a code
Your card is handled by Stripe, which runs Manor’s payments. Manor never sees or stores your card number. We keep only what we need to know whether your family has Manor: the kind of access you have (a membership, a code or a founding family), when it ends, and Stripe’s ID for your membership and its status, such as in a free week, active or canceled. If you entered a code, we keep which code and when, linked to your account once you make one. Stripe keeps your billing details and receipts under its own privacy policy. How memberships work is on our terms page.
Usage data
To learn what helps families and what doesn’t, Manor records how the app is used: which pages are opened, which buttons are tapped, which lessons and audio clips are started and finished, and how far through they get. This is linked to your account, including your email address, so we can see how a family is doing and follow up personally. Each child appears only as a random ID and an age range.
We also record some sessions as a replay of the screen layout and taps, with every word on the screen, everything you type, and every image, audio clip and video hidden.
Usage data never includes your kids’ names or birthdates, your journal notes or photos, or your lesson notes. You can switch it off any time under Share usage data in Manor’s menu. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, it’s off automatically.
Who else handles your information
Manor uses a few services to run. Each one handles only what it needs.
- Supabase stores your account, your kids’ profiles, their progress, your journal and your photos.
- Netlify hosts the website and app.
- Stripe takes payment for memberships and keeps your billing details.
- Resend sends the email with your sign-in code, and the reminder before a free week ends.
- Google handles sign-in, if you choose Continue with Google.
- Mixpanel receives the usage data described above, unless you’ve turned it off.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) receives, through its pixel on getmanor.org, the address of each page you open and a few milestones: that you clicked to try Manor, reached the join screen, started checkout, began a free week, created an account, or first read or started a lesson. We use this only to see which of our ads work and to show them to families likely to want Manor. Meta may link it to a Facebook or Instagram account you’re signed in to on that browser. It never includes your email, your kids’ names or ages, your journal or your photos, and it follows the same off switch as usage data: Share usage data in the menu, or Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser.
Children
Manor is made for parents. Children don’t have their own accounts, and everything about a child is entered by their parent. We use it only to run Manor for your family.
Seeing, changing or deleting your information
You can change or remove a child’s profile in the app at any time. To get a copy of everything we keep about your family, or to delete your account and all of it, including your usage data, email hello@getmanor.org from the address you sign in with. We’ll do it and write back to confirm.
Changes
If we change what we collect or who handles it, we’ll update this page and its date. If it’s a big change, we’ll tell you in the app or by email first. Questions are welcome at hello@getmanor.org.
